Kevin Yeargin

Kevin started with music early and stayed with it. It began with piano lessons at age 9 and he first picked up the guitar at age 10. That began a lifelong love and appreciation of music from a variety of genres. "My first guitar was a true learning instrument", he recalls. "The action was about a half an inch off the neck and I didn't really know how to tune it correctly so I just tuned it to what sounded good to me." Kevin also played drums for several years but he was drawn into a fascination with the acoustic pop/country/rock artists of the 60's and 70's.

He utilizes a smooth vocal style with a wide range of fingerstyle techniques which evolved from years of listening to and watching the styles of artists such as Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Billy Dean, Lindsey Buckingham and many others.

Kevin often uses open tuning.
"It is a lot of fun to experiment with alternate tunings. I think it has taken my music to another level, out of the simple acoustic folk style and into a more sophisticated place." He has combined many styles vocally and musically throughout the years into "what works for me when I play solo.
I don't necessarily play the same song the same way every time. I like to keep things fun and interesting, whatever feels comfortable to me at the time."

With his distinctive guitar playing and melodic voice, Kevin delivers a blend of acoustic country and pop and he has entertained at fairs, festivals, rodeos, special events and venues of all types throughout the country. Kevin has continued his acoustic explorations throughout the years. Wherever he performs, audiences of all ages continue to connect with the diverse range of material and talent that this performer brings to the stage.
